This 1957 Jaguar XKSS replica is the perfect recreation of the 1957 jaguar XKSS. The car is built from original drawings and body bucks by world renowned coach builders Shapecraft in Great Britain.
Only 16 XKSS models were made in 1957, and mainly because the publicly-offered car was directly based on Jaguar’s three-time Le-Mans winning D-Type racing car, the original 16 cars built are among the most coveted of all automobiles.

The 450S occupies a pivotal moment in Maserati history. On one hand, the car was visually stunning and competitive in FIA endurance racing, but on the other hand, it nearly ruined the company after one fateful day at the Venezuelan Grand Prix in 1957.
The design of the 450S borrowed much from the earlier 300S, but with its own tubular chassis, De Dion rear axle, and coil-spring suspension. Seeking to give the 450S some extra muscle on the track, the designers built the car around a 400 horsepower 4.478-liter Maserati V8, a much larger engine than typically used by the company. The whole package was wrapped in sumptuous aluminum bodywork and is unquestionably one of Maserati’s best looking designs. Nine cars were built total, intended for endurance racing in the World Sportscar Championship.
Our recreation is built to old factory drawings, the chassis using oval tubing as the original. The suspension is as 1957 using Houdaille shock absorbers and transverse leaf sprung de Dion rear axle, recast finned aluminium drum brakes all around as in period. The body is all hand-rolled aluminium over a space frame and recreates chassis #3501 the early Fantuzzi prototype car. A 4.9 liter Maserati quad cam V8 with 4 x 42 dcnf Webers is mated to an aluminum 5 speed Tremec box. Hours have gone into recreationing the details including the beautifully made hand riveted oil and fuel tanks.

The XK120C or C-Type Jaguar is considered one of the most desirable and legendary sports racing cars of all time. In keeping with the “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” marketing strategy, it was created specifically to win the 1951, 24 hours Le Mans, which it did.
However, the story does not end there. In 1953 the factory produced a refined version of the 1951 winner, including revolutionary disc brakes, and as a result, swept Le Mans with a 1st, 2nd and 4th finish. The winning car (Duncan Hamilton & Tony Rolt) averaged a record 105.85 m.p.h. for 24 hours! Of the 53 C-Types built between 1951 and 1953, eleven of them were factory team cars and the rest sold to privateers. Many of the 46 surviving C-Types are still active in historic racing, some re-bodied, re-powered and some even sporting a new space frame. An “original” is valued today in the region of £3-.5 million (and several times that with the right provenance).
We are pleased to incorporate many features in the C-Type variants. The most important is the development and introduction of the aluminum C-Type, based on original factory drawings for the chassis design and dimensions, along with an accurate body reproduction, in hand-rolled aluminum, by legendary classic car coach builder Shapecraft of England.
We offer the Le Mans spec, with an aggressive 340hp triple 45DCOE weber Jaguar 4.2 engine, with either a 4-speed Jaguar gearbox or a modern 5-speed, or the earlier 3.4 or 3.8 engine, with twin SU carbs car can be ordered. The cars can be left or right hand drive, the customer can choose from many options including paint color and interior trim finish.

Designed specifically to win the Le Mans 24-hour race, the slippery D-Type was produced by Jaguar Cars Ltd. between 1954 and 1957. Sharing the straight-6 XK engine and many mechanical components with its C-Type predecessor, its structure however, was radically different. Innovative monocoque construction and aerodynamic efficiency integrated, aviation technology in a sports racing car, including for example a renowned vertical stabilizer.
Engine displacement began at 3.4 litres, was enlarged to 3.8 L in 1957, and reduced to 3.0 L in 1958 when Le Mans rules, limited engines for sports racing cars to that maximum. D-Types won Le Mans in 1955, 1956 and 1957. After Jaguar temporarily retired from racing as a factory team, the company offered the remaining unfinished D-Types as XKSS versions, whose extra road-going equipment made them eligible for production sports car races, in America. In 1957, 25 of these cars were in various stages of completion when a factory fire destroyed nine of them. Total production is thought to have included 18 factory team D-Types, 53 customer cars and 16 XKSS versions.
In the constant quest for a more exact recreation, we offer a dimensionally correct car using a later independent suspension and much more powerful disc brakes. It utilises a full aluminium body by Shapecraft, available as either the 1955 short nose or 1956/7 long nose car. You will have the choice of 3.4, 3.8 or 4.2 litre engines, with triple 45 DCOE carburetors and four, or five speed transmission.
If you are looking for a slice of motor racing history, then the D-Type should certainly be on your list. We can supply this recreation based on aluminium bodywork and a tubular steel chassis that once assembled, is a striking replication of the original. The car utilises parts from Jaguar, supplemented with hand crafted detail and parts from original suppliers to Jaguar.
You can choose from an options list, selecting body style and upgrades. Many of the items are aesthetic to the original car, some are there for practicality, others for pure performance but whatever your choice is, we are sure the final product will exceed your expectations.

Cobra history buffs are very familiar with the Daytona Coupe, and chassis No. CSX2300 in particular. Leased from Alan Mann Racing by Ford of France, the car raced with distinctive livery, white body with narrow blue and red stripes, the national “Tri-Colore” entry in the 1965 Nürburgring 1,000 km.
Well-known French drivers Andre Simon and Jo Schlesser drove this Coupe to third place in the GT 3 category, finishing behind the GT-winning Alan Mann entry driven by Bob Bondurant and Jochen Neerpasch, and finishing 12th overall. That was one of only two occasions that a Daytona Coupe raced in something other than Viking Blue or Guardsman Blue; the other exception was the Filipinetti Coupe, CSX2602, which raced Le Mans in Swiss colors – red and white.
After the race, the white Coupe returned to Alan Mann Racing and was repainted in the traditional Guardsman Blue and Wimbledon White stripe of the 1965 Shelby American team. A number of legendary Cobra racers manned the wheel of CSX2300, such as Bob Bondurant, Allen Grant, Ed Leslie, Jack Sears and John Whitmore. And Carroll Shelby owned this Daytona before it was sold by RM Auctions for $4.4 million on Aug. 19, 2000. It’s now reported to be in Europe, owned by a Swiss collector of rare classics.
All of this helps to explain why Paul Martin chose to recreate this particular Coupe to the nth degree, and some might even say duplicate it. The project involved a significant amount of research and labor, taking four long years to complete.
“it was from reading The Cobra-Ferrari Wars that Paul discovered it is such an incredible car that had so little written about it. There is a rich history behind the car, and it was such an incredible achievement by a small American race-car builder to win the FIA Championship.
Veloce’s stunning reproduction embodies the finest in automotive craftsmanship and attention to detail, an authentic reincarnation, as it were. After all, Paul began this project with the goal of building the finest reproduction Daytona in existence.
The chassis and body were built by Caro Cars, aircraft fabrication specialists, who worked with measurements and hundreds of photos from an original Daytona to hand-form the all-aluminum body. The team referenced several original drawings and blueprints, spending more than 3,000 hours fabricating the aluminum body over an accurately built frame.
It took two years to construct the body, during which the owner embarked on a social media campaign to obtain as many NOS interior, mechanical and trim parts to make the car as original as possible. Parts came from all over the world, as enthusiasts sacrificed their hidden NOS treasures in order to participate in the construction of this unprecedented car.
At the outset of the project, the owner contacted the original designer, Peter Brock, who became interested and involved in the process. Known for enthusiastically embracing special Daytona Coupe projects, Peter offered his suggestions and insights on details while the project developed. With the frame and body completed, Nick Acton of Acton Custom Enterprises was called upon, spending two years completing the final build and assembly.
The precisely accurate frame uses original diameter tubing with correct front and rear uprights, per the original 289-racing chassis. Renowned Cobra expert Mike McCluskey preassembled the front and rear transverse race-specification, leaf spring suspension. As originally built, it has tapered bearings and adjustable lower control arms, along with KONI adjustable shocks.
As for the engine, Paul kept within period constraints, starting with a 289/302 Dart block stroked to 347 cubes and fitted with correct 48 IDA Webers and center linkage. The resulting dyno tests revealed an impressive 526 horses.
An original Borg Warner FIA T10 close-ratio gearbox was rebuilt with crosscut, polished gears by Mike Miles, who also utilized a 289 Galaxie tail shaft. Completing the driveline is a McLeod racing clutch and an original aluminum Shelby independent differential with 3.31 gears. Another exacting detail in the driveline is a differential cooler with a Mocal electric pump.
In compliance with original build specifications, Girling calipers with solid rotors were sourced and restored or rebuilt as needed. Hand-formed brake cooling vents (front and rear) with additional ducting were constructed for cooling the calipers and discs.
A correct pair of Stewart Warner 240-A fuel pumps was sourced and installed, supplying fuel from a hand-formed 30-gallon fuel tank. The exceptional level of detail and fabrication included sourcing original Cutler-Hammer radium-tipped aircraft switches and period hardware, including hand-painted switch lettering in the correct ivory color. Original-style Stewart Warner instruments were installed, and a NOS speedometer and tachometer were located and installed in the dashboard.
Further details included sourcing original Lucas lighting and an aluminum radiator with concealed high-speed automatic fans inside the hand-formed aluminum shroud. Rounding out the presentation, the car was finished in original Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White stripes, period-correct racing livery, and Halibrand aluminum racing wheels with period-correct knock offs.
The Daytona Club of Los Angeles planned an enthusiastic debuted upon completion of the car in 2015. Designer Peter and Allen Grant (World Championship driver, 1964) both were present to sign the car and share their excitement for this unprecedented homage to one of the greatest race cars ever built.
As a culmination of great minds in the Shelby Daytona Coupe community and the most stringent guidelines from original examples, this Daytona properly represents one of the most exciting times in modern racing. With the original cars valued in the multimillions of dollars, this stunning Daytona changed hands for around a half-million dollars. It was acquired by a collector in the Philippines, who owns about 450 other classics, with the transaction handled by Fantasy Junction, a broker specializing in the sale of classic and special-interest cars.
